A Glancing Romance

The moment our eyes met,

I felt we had something to share.

There would be secret between us,

which would always remain right there.

You would pass by the windows of my mind,

but never enter the door.

Nor would there ever be a pledge of forever more.

Ours would always be a forbidden desire that longed to be free.

A moment in time, that could never be.

Our eyes told a story of romance in that brief glance

We may have share a daydream,

but we'll never finish the dance.

I'll never hold your hand or stroke your hair.

I'll never be able to whisper how much I care.
