Short Poem About Love
The Truth About Love

Why does love have to hurt so bad
When it can make you feel so good
Why does love cause tears to fall
Not the happy kind like it should

Is it because our hearts are tender
They can't withstand very much pain
Without someone we don't feel whole
Do we consider it loss of personal gain

Unrequited love does bring misery
To those who only shoot for the stars
A loveless marriage is so sadly futile
One can forget who they truly are

Love should be like the kind in dreams
Where all fairy tales do come true
A twist of magic between two people
With whispers 'I will always love you'

Faith and trust are the combinations
Mixed with loyalty and lustfulness
That promise the tenderness of your love
To end each day in a sweet caress

There are my different kinds of love
The love for a child, the love of God
May the love a man has for his woman
And her for him be true, not a facade

When you find that magic combination
True love is a many splendored thing
Don't be afraid to let it flourish and grow
For it will make your heart truly sing

What many people do not seem to realize
But they surely will, as it comes with age
If you look at what a person is on the inside
And not on the outside, this advice is sage

So love doesn't have to hurt so bad
It can fill your life with all that is good
The joys of life you can share together
Take another chance, you really should
